Simple Present Boy and the Busy Day
This is Simple Present Boy!
He talks about
what people do every day. He helps everyone use the simple present tense the
right way!
Every morning, Simple Present Boy wakes up at 7 o’clock.
He brushes
his teeth, eats his breakfast, and runs to school.
He always says, “Use the
simple present to talk about things you do every day!”
One day, his friend Mia
said, “I goes to school by bike.” Uh-oh! That’s not quite right. ZOOM!
Simple
Present Boy appeared! “Mia, we say, ‘I go to school by bike.’” “Ohhh!” said Mia.
“Thank you!”
Later, his friend Jack said, “My dad like pizza.” “Not quite!” said
Simple Present Boy. “Your dad is ‘he,’ so we say, ‘My dad likes pizza.’
Add -s
for he, she, and it!” Jack clapped. “Now I get it!” Simple Present Boy’s golden
rules:
For I/you/we/they, just use the verb: I play, they run, we eat For
he/she/it, add -s or -es: She plays, he runs, it watches
At the end of the day,
Simple Present Boy smiles. He helps everyone speak clearly and correctly! So
remember: when you talk about things that happen every day, call your
hero—Simple Present Boy!
